Happy Independence Day! Red, white and blue banners -- marching bandsplaying John Philip Sousa -- flags -- -- parades -- hot dogs, hamburgers, Mom’s potato salad and ice cream -- fireworks over the town square. The quintessential American holiday.  Yes, of course, I decorated!    Check out the beautiful red, white and blue lights shining in the night. I have so many strings of lights, I can put together the appropriate colors for just about any holiday. Won the mini-light strings in a white elephant exchange -  everyone agreed I had to have them.

Flowerpots with red, white and blue were easy decorations for the front of the yard. I meant to order a few dozen small red, white and blue pinwheels from Oriental Trading for the flowerbeds but I ended up going to Big Lots and found these great pinwheels.

I added to my calaca collection with this little patriot.  I made him myself - I’m really enjoying playing with clay and making figures to help celebrate the holidays.
