Ready, everyone?
Tomorrow is the first of October and I’m hip-deep in preparations for Halloween. Actually,
I’m behind already but not worried yet. I have almost everything dragged down from the attic, only about ten more trips and I’ll have the rest of it at hand. I think all that’s left up there are a few more pieces of the jail, a few stray
pirates and the Spookytown platforms. I haven’t decided whether to bring all three platforms that I use for the Christmas village. Don’t have quite that many Spookytown buildings. Yet.

So what’s next? Sorting through all this stuff, assessing the condition of everything, making repairs as needed. I did notice that the squirrels in the attic chewed through a few bags and, oddly enough, the last
bottle of fog juice has a couple of holes on the handle. Not big enough to crawl through - maybe when they got a good whiff of it they decided it wasn’t what they thought it was in that jug. At least one skull on the jail arch will need a little repair work, although the toothmarks do kind of add to the effect.

The casting call has gone out and I have a crowd of boney actors hanging out in the backyard - fortunately, they don’t eat much and the dogs don’t seem to mind them much. Look for your favorites to return this year!
